The heart of this program is Bach’s Actus tragicus. It brings together voices, recorders, gambas, and continuo in one of the master’s most profound cantatas. Bach’s transparent writing speaks with clarity and depth about the quiet journey through mortality, comfort, and trust. In addition, on this program we offer a beautiful mass by French composer d’Ambleville and a few surprises.

During the pandemic, Kammerchor recorded a virtual rendition of BWV 106 which Mr. Heard described as a world-class performance. For the fifth anniversary of his passing, the ensemble performs it live at last, in his honour.
